This is the next interview in a new series in which we ask our fantastic Datasource Offshore staff to share a bit about themselves, both professionally and personally. We're amazed and inspired at their talents, hobbies, and aspirations, and we hope you are, too!
Years with Datasource: 1.5 months
Current Home City: Kolkata, India
Tell us about your experience with Datasource Consulting (DSC), including types of projects and positions held:
I recently joined the Datasource offshore team, and I’m currently involved in interviewing tons of great candidates in addition to providing data architecture and data integration resolutions. Although I’ve only been with Datasource a few weeks, I feel blissful to associate myself with so many specialists in BI. The amount of knowledge and materials available within Datasource is invaluable, and it helps everyone scale up to industry standards.
Describe life at Datasource with three unique words.
Opportunities, Value, Teamwork
Tell us what you like most about working at Datasource.
I am proud to keep a very high level of expectations from the candidates we interview. This gives us confidence that we are building a robust team of industry experts who can meet the most stringent client expectations.
What challenges you the most and what motivates you the most at Datasource?
I have been working on enterprise data integration and management for almost 10 years, and I have been always fond of data. Understanding a business concern and being able to provide an enterprise solution both challenges and motivates me. Although I have not been directly involved in a project thus far, I have had several opportunities to work with teams facing challenges and discuss possible solutions using our expertise.
What is on your bucket list?
Snorkeling the Great Barrier Reef, motorbike trip to Leh-Ladakh
What are your proudest accomplishments?
A friend asking me to be the primary photographer for her wedding.
What are your hobbies outside of work?
Photography, trying out new cuisines
What is your hidden talent?
I am an intermediate photographer, and have my own personal photography website.
What phobias do you have?
Acrophobia – fear of heights. I am extremely scared even to look down from the second floor of a building. However, if I’m physically tied to something (not a person!) to prevent me from falling, I can even calmly walk along the edge of the 100th floor. I still vividly remember crawling to the edge of Horseshoe Bend, Grand Canyon in Arizona, USA, petrified, just to peek down.
Tell us why you fell in love with data.
Data is like the footprint of what’s happening within an organization, and it also provides tremendous opportunity to identify new trends and potential. Understanding the data gives you a holistic perception on how the business operates. It fascinates me to see the volume and different mediums from which data is collected today, and how it’s harvested to create business.
