2) A tax preparation provider looking to move to a cloud-based data lake and data warehouse.
I am also currently the data architect for a global provider of legal, financial, and health data services. We are building a set of Sales Data Marts for reporting and analytics.
Describe life at Datasource with three unique words.
Expertise, Quality, Personal
Tell us what you like most about working at DSC.
I love working with the individuals at our client sites to solve their data management challenges and use data to benefit their business. I also enjoy working with my colleagues from Datasource and EXL and our common desire to collaborate. I love the fact that Datasource is a small community of like-minded professionals with the support and backing of our “extended family” of EXL.
What challenges you the most and what motivates you the most at DSC?
I am mostly motivated by new clients. Every time I visit a new client, I get to experience a fresh set of technical challenges, tools, and data problems, and meet great people and learn aspects of their industry. It’s new and exciting each time. Learning and change are both a challenge and a motivation.
What are your proudest accomplishments?
Getting married and having three great kids, graduating from Penn with a physics degree, and completing the Spartan obstacle course a couple years ago.
What are your hobbies outside of work?
I love the outdoors and also enjoy spending time being a homeowner - I'm a handy guy and like maintaining, fixing, and updating things. My wife and I enjoy spending time with our daughter and her high-school softball team. I'm also a big college football fan!
Tell us why you fell in love with data.
Data is the tangible, measurable, and persistent asset all robust business need to operate efficiently. Being able to manipulate it to make processes more efficient and people more informed is something I’m good at and something for which I feel there is a real need.
